Personal Support Worker (PSW) Career Information Session

Are you interested in starting a meaningful career in the health care sector? Join our Personal Support Worker (PSW) Information Session to learn about one of Ontario’s most in-demand and rewarding professions.

This session is part of the Government of Ontario’s Work4Life initiative, in partnership with Home Care Ontario. The goal of the program is to introduce participants to the role of a Personal Support Worker and help them explore health care as an accessible and stable career path in Ontario.

During this session, a PSW Career Ambassador from Work4Life will share valuable insights about the profession, including the daily responsibilities of PSWs, the individuals they support, and the different settings where PSWs can work, such as home care, long-term care homes, hospitals, and community settings.

Participants will also learn about:

• Current wages and job stability in the health care sector

• Career pathways and opportunities for growth within the field

• Government incentives and support programs available for PSW training

• An overview of training and certification options in Ontario

The session will also include a Q&A segment, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions and learn directly from someone working in the field. Real-life stories and experiences will be shared to highlight the compassion, impact, and career possibilities within this profession.

This session is offered in English and is open to anyone interested in learning more about entering the health care sector as a Personal Support Worker.
